Hotline Open for Property Claims Against the Metro Gang Strike Force

Individuals who seek to make a claim against the Metro Gang Strike Force for improper seizure of cash and property should call a telephone hotline set up by the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust (LMCIT). The LMCIT is handling all the claims. Callers will be asked to provide their name and contact information. They will then be sent a simple claims form along with a self-addressed, stamped return envelope. The LMCIT will research the claims and make a decision. In cases of valid property claims, the LMCIT may reward monetary compensation rather than return the property itself. Claimants can accept a property settlement and still pursue any other actions they choose.

The hotline is available in English, Spanish, Hmong and Somali and can be reached by calling (651) 209-2673

The Department of Public Safety has turned over the review panel’s findings to the FBI.
